Camp Piperwood - General Information
Dining Area: Lodges - There are tables and chairs available.  Please restack the chairs
and return tables to storage room when finished.  PLEASE LIFT TABLES WHEN MOVING.
Tents – There are picnic tables in the kitchen shelter.

Kitchen: Each troop is responsible for providing cooking utensils as there are none on site.

Sleeping Area:  There are 35 mattresses in each storage area. 
These are to be used on the floor only for sleeping and returned to storage when the room
is used for any other activity.

Garbage and Trash: Please help us to recycle.  Take recyclables home. 
All other refuse from kitchen, bathroom, and activity room must be removed and
deposited in the dumpster in the parking lot.

Bathrooms: There are three toilets and two basins.   The group must bring its own
hand-washing supplies.  Because we are on a septic system, each girl may take only
one shower during the weekend.  The Ranger will give instructions on activating the showers.

Medical Services: Strong Memorial Hospital (585-275-2100) is the closest for medical
treatment.  Other emergency numbers are posted by the phone.

Food Stores:  Both Wegman’s and Martin's are located at Mosley Road & Route 31 (Pittsford-Palmyra Rd).

Program Possibilities: There are acres of woods and open fields, flat terrain, and ravines. 
Hiking paths are available.  A multitude of plants and wildlife have made their homes
on this campsite.

Splash Pad:  The Camp Ranger will provide instructions for the usage of the Splash Pad
to the leader in charge.
INFORMATION TO MAKE YOUR TRIP A SUCCESS AT PIPERWOOD

*Keys: The Ranger will only issue lock box codes to the person-in-charge as stated on the permit. 

Parking: All cars must be parked in the parking lot except for one emergency car.  This vehicle must be parked in the designated space west of the lodge.  No cars are allowed on the circle or road.

*Telephone: Camp Anne’s # is (585) 223-1536.  Camp Jennifer’s # is (585) 223-2651.  These numbers are to be used in an emergency only.  Only local calls are permissible.  Charges will be billed to applicable groups.  Emergency numbers are posted near the telephone.  Please notify the Ranger if emergency calls are made.  Please leave the Camp Ranger’s phone (585-223-1887) as well as the lodge phone number with your in-town contact.  This should be used in emergency situations only.  Always attempt to reach the lodge first; use the Ranger's number for emergencies only.

*Fireplaces: Fireplaces are not needed for heat.  Each group is responsible for bringing and removing wood sufficient for their program use.  Inside fireplaces are not to be used for cooking purposes.  Please limit their use to toasting marshmallows.

All-Camp Campfire Circle: There are two (2) of these, one is located in the
field between the Florence Fryer unit and woods (don't forget your sit-upons!). 
The second is located between the lodge and the Constance Mitchell Pavilion. 
It could be used by several groups – sharing is encouraged.
