Camp Pinewood - General Information
Medical Service:  Noyes General Hospital - Rt 36, on the outskirts of Dansville,
near I-390 (585-335-6001).

Places of Worship:
Catholic - St. Mary’s, Elizabeth Street, Dansville (585-335-2700).
Protestant - Several located in Dansville.
Jewish - There is no synagogue in the vicinity.

Food Stores: Groceries, milk and ice can be found at Cy’s,
21 Main Street, Arkport (607-295-7563).

Program Possibilities: Pinewood is nestled in the rolling hills south of Dansville, NY. 
It offers 750 acres with woodlands and open fields to roam. 
There are numerous program possibilities from games in the fields to hiking
and nature exploration.

Garbage and Trash: Please help us to recycle.  Take recyclables home. 
All other refuse from kitchen, bathroom, and activity room must be removed
and deposited in the dumpster in the parking lot.
INFORMATION TO MAKE YOUR TRIP A SUCCESS AT PINEWOOD

Parking:
  • There can be no more than one authorized vehicle (emergency car) per unit beyond parking lot.  No shuttling or changing of vehicles is allowed.  Parking should be arranged so that the emergency car carries food and/or equipment that is to be transported to the unit.  Other gear is to be carried by girls.
  • The emergency car remains in the unit.  In case of serious accident immediately notify the Ranger and call an ambulance.

Telephone:
  • The Ranger’s phone number is (607) 295-9877.  The Ranger should be called in an emergency.   Leave this number with your in-town contact.
  • Emergency numbers are posted near the phone.  If you have telephoned the Police or Fire Department, notify the Ranger as soon as possible.  Phones are located in the Health Cabin and the Kitchen.

Kitchen:   Each troop is responsible for providing cooking utensils as there are none on site.

Lake: During summer months (June-September) troops/groups may use the lake for boating. 
It is the responsibility of the troop/group to provide the appropriately trained and certified personnel.  Documentation of certification must be provided to the Council Registrar at the time of registration.  Canoes must be reserved in advance through the Council Equipment Reservation System. 
Troops must restack canoes and boats when finished.
