your stage presence for a week

of acting, writing and directing at Camp Pinewood. Girls will spend the week developing characters, practicing improvisation, learning about costuming and makeup, and producing their own play to present to the rest of camp. Girls will also make time for swimming, boating, arts and crafts, archery and the ropes course.

Requirements towards the Theater badge will be met.

PINEWOOD Resident Camps for 4-6 Graders

Eco-Girls

Cost Per Week:  $280

Weeks Offered: July 20-25

Learn more about your outdoor environment as you swim, boat, climb and hike your way around Pinewood. Investigate how Pinewood's plants, animals and people interact during the day and at night. Preserve the camp's natural beauty by completing an eco-service project during the week. Girls will also have time to swim, boat, try archery and use the ropes course.

Requirements towards the Water Drop patch and Wildlife badge will be met.

Waterlogged

Cost Per Week:  $280

Weeks Offered: July 20-25, 2008

Spend all your time in and around the water for a week.  Girls will swim, play water games, paddle funyaks, canoes and paddleboats, and fish. They will also grab their creek shoes, nets and magnifiers to explore the critters that make Pinewood’s lakes and streams their home. All girls will learn about water safety during swimming and boating. Girls will also be able to explore the ropes course, archery and crafts. 

Requirements towards the Swimming, Water Fun and Small Craft badges will be met.

Thrill Seekers

Cost Per Week:  $325

Weeks Offered: July 27-Aug 1, 2008           

This week is for the girl looking for a little excitement for her summer. Girls will spend their week learning low and high elements on the ropes course, paddling a kayak, perfecting their archery skills and going horseback riding at a local ranch.

They will also have time to lounge around the pool and enjoy arts and crafts. Girls will end the week with the “Pinewood Adventure,” where they will utilize the skills they’ve learned throughout the week to complete a challenge course.

Requirements towards the Adventure Sports badge will be met.

Outdoor Creativity

Cost Per Week:  $280

Weeks Offered: July 27-Aug 1, 2008

Express yourself through photography, painting and natureinspired

arts and crafts. Girls will have the opportunity to use their personal art to create cards, framed pieces, books and other pieces of their choice. Girls will also have the chance to swim, boat, try out archery and enjoy the ropes course. Girls will need to bring a 35 mm or digital camera with them that will be locked in the director’s cabin when not in use. 

Requirements towards the Outdoor Creativity badge will be met.

My Camp

Cost Per Week:  $280

                   Weeks Offered:  Session 1 (July 13-18); Session 2 (July 20-25); Session 3 (July 27-Aug 1)

Would you prefer to plan your whole week of camp?  My Camp allows girls to choose from all that camp has

to offer and design their own week upon arrival. Girls can choose from ropes, archery, boating, swimming, hiking, outdoor cooking, orienteering, night hikes, night swims and more. Girls will be challenged to use their creativity to plan and carry out one activity that is truly original to share with the rest of camp.

Outdoor Camper

Cost Per Week:  $280

Weeks Offered: July 13-18, 2008

Perfect your camping skills during this week at Pinewood.  Cook outdoors, learn orienteering skills, practice erecting a tent, hone your fire building skills and more. Girls will also learn and

        practice “Leave No Trace”                                skills, take a nighttime hike                                and explore the less traveled                             areas of Camp Pinewood.                                  Girls will have time to engage                             in arts and crafts, swimming,                              boating, archery and the

ropes course. 

Requirements towards the Camp Together and Hiker badges.
