Camp Oak Orchard - General Information
A-Frames Unit Site:
1.Check your assigned unit and note any discrepancies or repairs needed.
2.Store food/gear in the storage room in the shelter.
3.There is no electricity at the site.  Check lanterns.
4.Check woodpile.
5.Drinking water is available at lodge pump (across from the lodge by the pump-house). 
          Non-drinking water use is available at the pump on the main trail, north of the unit.
6.A latrine is near the site.

Sleeping Area:  There are 24 mattresses in each storage area.  These are to be used on the
floor only for sleeping and returned to storage when the room is used for any other activity.

Medical Service: Medina Memorial Hospital, Ohio Street, Medina, (585) 798-2000.

Places of Worship:
Roman Catholic - St. Mary’s, 211 Eagle Street, Medina, (585) 798-0112.
Protestant - several churches in the village of Medina.
Jewish - there is no synagogue in the vicinity.

Program Possibilities: There are 98 acres to roam, including several creeks and a pond. 
A flagpole is located near the lodge. The flag is stored in the lodge. 
Local activities/venues include the Iroquois Wildlife Refuge, the Erie Canal – biking,
hiking, etc and Oak Orchard Canoe Outfitters

Garbage and Trash: Please help us to recycle.  Take recyclables home. 
All other refuse from kitchen, bathroom, and activity room must be removed
and deposited in the dumpster in the parking lot.

INFORMATION TO MAKE YOUR TRIP A SUCCESS AT OAK ORCHARD

Keys: To obtain keys, please contact caretaker Bill Dale at (585) 682-4716 at least 48 hours in advance!

Parking: All cars must be parked in the parking area located on the right side of the entrance road, next to the storage shed.  One car is allowed to be parked next to the latrine at the lodge. DO NOT DRIVE TO THE UNITS. 

Telephone: The phone at the lodge is (585) 798-3821.  The telephone is to be used by adults for emergency call only.  Emergency numbers are posted near the phone.  Leave the lodge phone number with your in-town contact.  Phones are for local calls only, except for emergencies.

Water:  There is hot/cold water at the lodge kitchen and washroom sinks and showers.   Please do not let water run unnecessarily.  Water goes into a holding tank, which must be pumped when full.  Be water conscience!  Please note that water is not available at the A-Frame unit site.

Bathrooms:  There are four shower/toilet combos. The group must bring its own hand-washing supplies.  Be water conscience!  Please note that water is not available at the A-Frame unit site.

Kitchen: Each troop is responsible for providing cooking utensils as there are none on site.
